Every Wednesday afternoon, we have a relaxed time of fellowship with women and children. We offer crafts and activities including at times music, tutoring, coloring, sewing, and hair cuts. We offer women and children snacks and a free cup of coffee, chai, or cocoa. This time is a space for us to listen to women's stories, pray for them, and point them to Jesus. For many women, this program is an entry into other programs at the Oasis that give them more opportunities to hear the gospel.
Once a month on Friday night, we offer a Women's program. This is a great time for refugee women to come to hear a message, eat some goodies, have coffee and tea, and do a craft. The room is decorated by the Oasis team and it is made into a very special evening. Since there are so many less women than men in the camp, this is a wonderful break for the women to have a place to go where they can enjoy just being women. Many of the women are thankful that there is a time just for them where they can get away from the day to day life in the camp.
